Networks for Training and Development, Inc. (Networks) will be hosting its thirteenth Employment Supports Symposium “Spreading Employment 1st” on April 26th, May 2nd, & May 8th, 2012, at the Philadelphia Crowne Plaza City Line Avenue, Knowlton Mansion, and the Hyatt Penn’s Landing respectively, in Philadelphia. Each of the 3 days will highlight a distinct employment related theme.  The Employment Supports Symposium is a place for employment support professionals, employers, family members and self-advocates to learn, explore, network, and share positive outcomes of individuals with disabilities in the workforce. This three day conference is an opportunity to celebrate employment for all in Pennsylvania!

Last year’s Awards Dinner was a great success.  We received the most nominations ever, and honored a total of 13 exemplary employers.  It brought together employers from across the state of Pennsylvania.  We plan to continue this momentum with an awards dinner at the symposium on May 8, 2012 at the Hyatt Penn’s Landing.

We would like your agency to nominate several employers located in Pennsylvania who you feel have done an outstanding job at creating an exceptional working environment for an employee whom your agency provides supports or follow along services. You may nominate supervisors, managers, coworkers, or any other employee within the business who you feel deserves an award. Please help us in recognizing employers who are champions of employment for all!

Each nomination form will be reviewed and the winners selected by the Employer Awards Committee.  Winners will be honored on the evening of May 8th, the last day of the Symposium, during an awards dinner.  We are requesting that dinner costs for award recipients be paid for by the nominating agency

In Addition, Networks is pleased to announce the 5th year of The Octavia Green Dream Job Award. Given in honor of Octavia, this award will honor a self-advocate who has taken an active role in the pursuit and achievement of his or her dream job. The Octavia Green Awards Committee will be accepting nominations for this prestigious award as well. 

Attached are both the Employer Award nomination form and the Octavia Green Dream Job award nomination form.  Please make additional copies as needed.  The deadline for nomination submission is March 2, 2012.  Please return the forms to:
