Alliance for Full Participation – Pennsylvania State Team Everyone Benefits When Everyone Works Vision People with intellectual disabilities will obtain employment that includes integration, productivity, independence and quality of life. Mission To double the number of individuals with intellectual disabilities that are employed by 2015. Strategic Goals Empower individuals and their families to understand what they can do to obtain community employment and help them increase their knowledge of the benefits of employment and available supports. Communicate effective transition planning to individuals in the 18- 21 year age range, their families, and the educational system. Raise employment expectations with Supports Coordinators and provide training on how to promote employment. Provide best practices training for job placement and job coaching including appropriate business techniques and relationship building. Identify and communicate emerging statewide and local business opportunities. Review system and policy recommendations to promote and support employment. Identify best practices for resolving transportation barriers to employment. Communicate the mission of the Alliance for Full Participation PA Team and report regularly on the progress to all stakeholders.
